Junior Junior Sous Chef Spring Street Pizza - Bar Spring Street Pizza is expanding, with the launch of our bar next door opening this autumn. The bar develops the Spring Street Pizza experience, offering a New York Italian drinks and bar food menu - Negronis, martinis, spritzes, a short wine list on tap - alongside a small plates menu built for sharing: daily housemade focaccia, crudo, fritti, and our signature red-sauce meatballs, all made from scratch and made with the same care, attention and produce that we are known for.

Role Overview As a Junior Sous Chef at The Bar at Spring Street, you'll play a key role in our kitchen, running your section through service and preparing the housemade produce that sits at the heart of our small plates menu - from daily focaccia to crudo, fritti, and our signature meatballs. You'll work closely with the Head Chef within a small, agile team. This is a 50 hour full-time role, reporting to the Head Chef.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run your section confidently and consistently through service.
  • Prepare housemade produce to a consistently high standard
  • Carry out day-to-day mise en place and ingredient prep to support smooth service.
  • Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and organisation in the kitchen.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Support stock rotation, storage, and minimising waste.
  • Contribute to a positive, hardworking kitchen culture and continuous improvement.
  • Step in across sections as needed within a small, agile team.
  • Support with prep for Spring Street Pizza

What You'll Bring

  • Solid cooking experience, at least Chef de Partie level, ideally within small plates or a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Strong knife skills and attention to detail in food preparation.
  • A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality, housemade ingredients.
  • Ability to work efficiently and stay organised under pressure.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • A team-player mindset and willingness to learn.
