Junior Tourism Data Analyst

Role Description The Junior Tourism Data Analyst is a part-time, remote role focused on supporting CASE’s tourism-related social enterprise initiatives through data-driven insights. In this role, the analyst will collect, clean, and organize tourism data from various sources, including surveys, reports, and public datasets. The person will assist in performing basic data analysis and statistical evaluation to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities in African tourism sectors relevant to social entrepreneurship. Daily tasks include preparing visualizations and summary reports, contributing to data models that help assess social and economic impact, and collaborating with program teams to translate findings into actionable recommendations. The role also involves clear communication of insights to non-technical stakeholders and contributing to the continuous improvement of data processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and foundational Data Analytics capabilities.
• Candidates should possess basic knowledge of Statistics and experience applying statistical concepts to real-world data.
• Candidates should possess skills in Data Modeling, including organizing and structuring tourism or socioeconomic data for analysis.
• Candidates should possess clear Communication skills to present data insights to diverse, non-technical audiences.
• Relevant skills and qualifications include familiarity with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets) and introductory experience with data analysis software or programming languages (e.g., R, Python, or statistical packages).
• Beneficial qualifications include coursework or experience in tourism studies, economics, social sciences, or related fields, as well as an interest in social entrepreneurship and impact measurement in African contexts.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate with cross-cultural teams is essential.
