Junior Technical Consultant

Junior Technical Support (macOS/iOS & Live Events) | London (Hybrid) | 12-Month Contract | £160/day Inside IR35

Widen The Net is hiring a Junior Technical Support Technician for a global consumer tech brand. You'll work alongside a Senior Technical Producer, keeping the Mac and iOS devices behind high-profile AR experiences running at events across EMEA.

This is an IT support role first. It's a great fit for someone with a year in IT, desktop or technical support who knows their way around a Mac and wants to take those skills on the road. You'll be hands-on from day one: configuring devices, fixing problems and keeping events running smoothly.

What you'll do

* Prepare event kits: update, charge and configure Mac and iOS devices before shipping

* Help troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues during live events

* Run network checks onsite, including speed tests and basic Wi-Fi and LAN setup

* Support setup, calibration and strike of AR activations, including AR mirrors and wearable AR glasses

* Keep the setup clean and tidy so the experience looks seamless to guests

* Help with pre-production tasks on office days

What you'll bring

* Good Mac skills: you can reinstall or upgrade macOS and you're comfortable with basic Terminal commands

* Basic networking knowledge: DHCP, IP addresses, running speed tests

* At least 1 year in IT support, desktop support or a technical role (events, AV or onsite work is a plus)

* Some exposure to MDM tools such as Jamf is a plus

* Organised, well prepared and calm under pressure

* Friendly and good with people, from producers to guests

* Curious about new tech and quick to learn

Logistics

* London office 3 to 4 days a week when not travelling

* Regular travel across EMEA, with occasional US or APAC trips

* Evening and weekend work during event peaks

* Valid passport required

* 12-month contract, £160/day, Inside IR35 via umbrella
