Location: Ewen, Cirencester
Salary: 39k-41k Package
Hours: 48h contract

We’re looking for a passionate and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

The Wild Duck in Ewen is part of The Country Creatures Group, who run three other pubs across the cotswolds. We believe in quality produce, great interiors and true pub atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Help lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team.
  • Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard.
  • Ensure excellent food presentation and quality during service.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety and cleanliness.
  • Assist with ordering, stock control and minimising food waste.
  • Support menu preparation and development.
  • Train and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of senior chefs.
  • Work efficiently as part of a busy and professional kitchen brigade.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef.
  • Is confident working in a fast-paced professional kitchen.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for food.
  • Can lead and motivate a team while remaining hands-on.
  • Has strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
  • Is organised, reliable and able to work under pressure.
  • Takes pride in delivering consistently high standards.
  • Is keen to develop their skills and progress their career.

Pay: £39,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
