Junior Sous Chef

Elnecot is looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our Kitchen team.

We are an independent restaurant in the heart of Ancoats, approaching our 9th year of operation. Our food is inspired by Britain and we aim to create dishes that reflect the seasons. We work with some incredible suppliers and producers and we allow our chefs to be creative, working with our Head Chef and Chef Patron. The menu is a combined effort from the team.

48 hours per week - spread over 4/5 days. Working weekends is essential.

£13.50 per hour. Tips and service are EXCELLENT. Around £500 per month

Main responsibilities will include:

Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen and team

Preparation of elements and dishes to the specification of the Chef Patron

Helping the team with basic preparation of raw produce

Ensuring the team are maintaining extremely high levels of food hygiene in accordance with food safety guidelines

Monitoring portion control and waste control

Working alongside the front of house team to increase knowledge of menu and to co-ordinate events

The ideal candidate will have:

At least 2 year's experience in a Sous Chef position or 5 year's experience at CDP level in a similar environment

An understanding and appreciation of the business aspects of running an independent restaurant
