Junior Social & Content Executive

£26,000–£27,000

South East based | Hybrid | London, client and event travel

We’re Branded by Aquila – an embedded brand and marketing partner that’s shaking up the traditional agency model. We work as an extension of our clients’ teams, combining strategy with hands-on delivery to help brands stand out, bill more and be better.

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Social & Content Executive to join the team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone early in their marketing career who has a genuine eye for content, loves social media and wants the chance to take ownership of their work rather than spend the next two years doing the boring stuff.

You might be an eager graduate with a strong creative portfolio, or you might have a year or so under your belt and be looking for somewhere you can really prove yourself. Either way, we’re looking for energy, ideas and attention to detail – we can help develop the rest.

So, what will you actually be doing?

Around 60% of your role will be owning the day-to-day social media output across our client accounts and Branded by Aquila itself.

At the heart of that will be managing our clients’ content calendars – working with the wider team to understand what’s happening across each account, spotting opportunities and turning that activity into a consistent mix of relevant, engaging content. You’ll help make sure each calendar has the right balance, from brand and people-led content through to behind-the-scenes, insight, thought leadership and more sales-led messaging.

You’ll then take ownership of creating the static content that brings those calendars to life. Our video and animated content is covered by Liam, our Videographer, but the copy, imagery, graphics, carousels, polls and other static formats will very much be your space.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Managing and maintaining social content calendars across multiple client accounts
  • Writing, creating, editing and proofreading static social content across different formats
  • Making sure each client has the right mix of content and messaging, rather than simply filling spaces in a calendar
  • Monitoring client social channels and supporting community engagement – responding to comments, joining relevant conversations and making sure activity doesn’t go unnoticed
  • Supporting partner and supplier activity, whether that means engaging with their content, sharing posts or building relevant activity into the content calendar
  • Working with the wider team to turn blogs, events, publications, campaigns and other client activity into engaging social content
  • Picking up reactive opportunities through client WhatsApp groups – whether someone has just been promoted, they’re at an event, they’ve had a great client meeting or something simply needs to go out that day
  • Keeping an eye on what’s performing and using that insight to continually improve future content
  • Giving our own BbA social channels the same level of attention we give our clients

You’ll need a really good eye for the details. Spacing is a bugbear of our founder! So are graphics that don’t quite line up, copy that hasn’t been proofed and content that technically does the job but just doesn’t look sharp.

Canva templates absolutely have their place, but our aim is to create lifestyle-led content that brings each brand to life. It should feel authentic, individual and like it could only have come from that particular client – not like we’ve changed the logo on the same template six times.

Our video and animated content is already covered by Liam, our Videographer. Your job is to help us level up everything around it, so that our static social output and overall social presence are every bit as strong.

And the other 40%?

We are a small, collaborative team, so you'll also work closely with Liam and Lauren, our Senior Marketing Executive, supporting wider content and client delivery. That could mean:

  • Joining Liam at client shoots and events to capture behind-the-scenes photos and social content in real time
  • Helping behind the camera during interviews or shoots – asking questions, prompting clients and generally helping things run smoothly
  • Occasionally getting involved on camera yourself, so you can't be too shy!
  • Supporting Lauren with events and wider client activity
  • Helping create pitch decks, brochures, flyers, one-pagers and other marketing collateral when needed
  • Spotting content opportunities while you're out with the team rather than waiting for somebody else to tell you what to capture
  • Helping us make much more of everything happening inside BbA itself

Of course, you won't be expected to commercially manage clients, but you will interact with them. So we're looking for someone who is bubbly, polite, confident enough to hold a conversation and represents us brilliantly when they're in the room.

Love at first sight if you:

  • Have a genuine interest in social media, content and brands
  • Can write naturally and adapt your writing to different brand voices
  • Are a strong proofreader with excellent attention to detail
  • Have a good creative eye and care about how things look
  • Are comfortable using Canva and creating polished static social assets
  • Understand that good social content is about more than filling spaces in a calendar
  • Can juggle multiple brands, deadlines and requests without losing the detail
  • Are happy working reactively when something needs turning around quickly
  • Have the confidence to speak to clients and get involved at events and shoots
  • Bring ideas, energy and solutions rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do
  • Want to learn, develop and take genuine ownership of your work

Experience in social, content or marketing would obviously be useful, but we're not fixated on years served. We'd consider a really switched-on graduate with the right evidence of ability just as seriously as somebody with their first year of industry experience behind them.

Location & working style

This is a South East-based hybrid role. We expect face-to-face time to matter (you should want this and enjoy it!), particularly for somebody leading a team and building relationships.

You should expect roughly 3 days each week to involve the office/team, clients, London meetings, networking or events, depending on what’s happening.

Some weeks will be quieter. Others definitely won’t.

Hold up - what can we give you?

We do really well at taking junior talent and giving them the room to grow.

That doesn't mean throwing you in (completely) at the deep end without support. It means you'll work alongside people who can teach you, while still being trusted with real clients, real output and work that actually matters.

You'll get the opportunity to build your skills across different brands, sectors and types of marketing; attend events and shoots; develop your own personal brand; and gradually take more ownership as your confidence and capability grow.

We want you to be able to look back after your first year and see a very obvious difference in what you can do – and have a body of work you're genuinely proud to say you created.

  • £26,000–£27,000 depending on experience
  • 37.5-hour working week
  • A little flexibility around your start and finish times
  • Simply Health plan with 24/7 GP access
  • Pension scheme
  • Discounted gym membership
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • +1 additional day of leave for every two years served
  • Wellbeing mornings / Volunteering / CSR days
  • Regular socials, industry events and networking opportunities
  • Monthly incentives to be won on our “giant wheel”
  • Yearly team incentive based on performance
  • A culture where creativity genuinely matters
  • Real ownership of your work from early on
  • Hands-on development alongside an experienced marketing team
  • Exposure to multiple brands, clients and areas of marketing
  • The opportunity to attend client shoots, events and industry days
  • Room to develop your skills and grow your role as the business grows
  • International exposure as we expand
  • No glass ceilings – if you’ve got the ability and appetite to progress, we want to help you do it

The hidden benefits of joining now

You’ll be joining BbA at an exciting point in our growth, with the chance to learn quickly, take real ownership and grow with us.

You’ll get exposure to different brands, clients, events and projects, with plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas and create work you’re genuinely proud of.

If you’re ambitious, creative and ready to prove what you can do – we should talk.

Be Self-Propelling. Be Brave with Creativity. Be Empowered, to Empower. Be part of Branded by Aquila.

Pay: £26,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • Private medical insurance
  • Work from home

Application question(s):

  • Please share your LinkedIn profile URL and, if you have one, a link to any social/content work, portfolio or examples you’re proud of.
  • What are the top three things you're looking for in your job search/next role?
  • This is a hands-on role - from creating content and being out with clients, to supporting at events and helping on video shoots. What part of that excites you most, and is there anything you’d be less comfortable with?
