Cammach is currently recruiting a Junior Production Technician on behalf of our Aberdeen-based client. The position is offered on a permanent Full time staff contract.

The Role Key objectives of the Junior Production Technician is to support the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of ROV and subsea equipment, working under the guidance of Senior Production Technicians and Production Manager. This role involves assisting with mechanical and electrical build tasks, learning production processes and quality standards, and developing the practical skills needed to progress within the production team.

Responsibilities

  • Production Support: Assist Senior Production Technicians with the assembly, build, and testing of ROV and subsea equipment in line with work instructions and quality standard
  • Testing and Inspection: Carry out functional tests, inspections, and basic fault-finding on mechanical and electrical assemblies, escalating issues to senior staff as required
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Senior Production Technicians, engineers, and other departments to ensure builds are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule
  • Documentation: Complete build records, test sheets, and other production paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Housekeeping and Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area, following all health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Demonstrations: Assist in preparing and executing client demonstrations, including logistics, readiness of equipment, and execution of demonstrations
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical principles, with a willingness to learn ROV and subsea production techniques
  • Problem-Solving: Sound practical problem-solving skills to identify and resolve basic build and assembly issues
  • Communication: Good communication skills to work effectively as part of a production team and follow instructions from senior staff
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality when following build instructions and completing paperwork

Requirements Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Experience: Some experience or hands-on interest in mechanical and/or electrical assembly, manufacturing, or a related practical discipline
  • Practical Skills: Basic hand tool skills and the ability to follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, or build instructions
  • Education: Relevant qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (e.g. NC/HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent), or a demonstrable willingness to work towards one

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including mechanical assembly (fastenings, seals, torque settings) and/or basic electrical wiring and cable termination
  • Certifications: Recognized qualification or certification in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related manufacturing discipline
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with subsea equipment, ROV systems, or related industry standards
  • Career Development: Demonstrated interest in progressing towards a Senior Production Technician role, with a proactive and safety-conscious approach to work
