Kemetyl UK Ltd is looking for a motivated and quality-focused Junior Mixing Operative to join our growing manufacturing operation in Nottingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing or chemical production experience who wants to develop their skills and build a long-term career within an international chemical manufacturing business.

Working alongside our Senior Mixing Operative and Laboratory Technician, you will learn and support the complete chemical manufacturing process, helping us produce consistently high-quality products safely and in accordance with approved formulations and procedures.

The Role

As a Junior Mixing Operative, you will support the manufacture of a wide range of automotive, cleaning and speciality chemical products for major UK and international customers.

You will work closely with our Senior Mixing Operative and Laboratory Technician to ensure batches are manufactured accurately, safely and consistently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the preparation and manufacture of chemical batches
• Accurately weighing and measuring raw materials
• Following approved formulations, batch sheets and manufacturing procedures
• Adding raw materials in the correct quantities and sequence
• Operating mixing and manufacturing equipment
• Working closely with the Laboratory Technician to ensure batches meet required quality specifications
• Taking and preparing samples for quality testing
• Recording batch information and completing production documentation accurately
• Checking and identifying raw materials before use
• Following chemical handling, PPE and health & safety procedures
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping within the mixing area
• Supporting stock control and organisation of raw materials
• Identifying and reporting any quality, formulation or production issues
• Learning our manufacturing processes and developing the skills required to take greater responsibility for chemical production

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone practical, reliable and switched-on who understands the importance of accuracy, procedure and quality within a manufacturing environment.

Previous relevant experience is essential for this position.

Ideally, you will have previous experience within chemical manufacturing, blending, mixing, process manufacturing or a similar production environment.

You should have:

• Previous manufacturing or chemical production experience
• Good practical understanding of manufacturing processes
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confidence working with weights, measurements and quantities
• The ability to follow formulations and written procedures accurately
• A strong attitude towards health & safety and chemical handling
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A reliable and punctual approach to work
• A willingness to learn and develop your technical knowledge
• Good practical problem-solving skills
• A positive, hardworking attitude

Forklift experience would be advantageous.

As part of our recruitment process, shortlisted candidates may complete a short aptitude assessment designed to assess practical thinking, basic calculations, attention to detail and ability to follow manufacturing instructions.

What We Offer

£28,500 annual starting salary, paid monthly.

Your standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, 10:00am–6:00pm.

During your initial training period, you will be required to work Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm. This will allow you to work closely with our experienced mixing and technical team while learning our manufacturing processes, formulations, quality standards and procedures. Once your initial training period is successfully completed, you will move onto the standard 10:00am–6:00pm shift.

There may also be opportunities for overtime and additional earnings.

This role offers excellent development potential. You will work directly alongside experienced members of our mixing and laboratory team, developing your knowledge of chemical manufacturing, formulations, quality control and production processes.
