Junior Housing Assistant & Compliance Officer
Job Overview
We are looking for an organised and proactive Junior Housing Assistant & Compliance Officer to join our small, friendly Estates and Property team. We work closely together in a supportive, collaborative and fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and operational support across the team, helping to ensure properties are well managed and tenants receive a professional and responsive service. A key focus of the role will be taking ownership of compliance administration, ensuring records are accurate and up to date, inspections and renewals are scheduled within required timescales, and outstanding actions are monitored and followed up.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day housing administration and respond to tenant enquiries.
- Maintain accurate compliance databases, property records and associated documentation.
- Monitor and schedule key property compliance requirements, including gas safety, electrical safety, fire safety and asbestos.
- Liaise with contractors, coordinate appointments and arrange access to properties.
- Manage property keys and maintain accurate key records.
- Support Housing Officers with the day-to-day management of properties.
- Assist with emergency accommodation and void properties, including move-in and move-out checks.
- Monitor outstanding works and appointments, following up with contractors where required.
- Provide general administrative and project support to the wider Estates and Property team.
- Ensure correspondence, records and documentation are accurate, organised and kept up to date.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, contractors, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Assist the team with other reasonable duties relating to housing, property management and compliance as required.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Confident communicating with tenants, contractors and colleagues.
- Basic understanding of housing regulations and compliance standards (training provided if needed)
- Proactive, reliable and keen to learn. The role requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Previous housing or compliance experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
The role offers a broad scope to gain hands-on knowledge and experience across housing, property management and compliance. It is ideally suited to someone keen to learn and develop, with the opportunity to build their skills and experience.
Pay: From £26,000.00 per year
