Junior Finance Manager

East Goscote Plumbers / Electrics are part of the wider family business, Jelson Limited. The Jelson group of companies has a wide range of businesses with our main business being construction (new homes, industrial and commercial) including associated transport, plant & machinery, logistics and supply chain activities.
We are looking for a Junior Finance Manager who is highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent finance skills. This full time position will support the growth and function of the Finance Team.
Job Summary:
To oversee and manage finance functions, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts and statutory financial reporting.
To support the Directors with group-wide financial reporting, analysis, and other key financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing monthly management accounts with rolling 12 months forecast
- Analysing job costing, invoicing in respected manner and reconciliation WIP
- Budgeting, analysing & reviewing revenue and cost against budgets and communicating financial data to non-financial members
- Producing monthly margin report and reconciling back to management accounts
- Processing weekly wage journal and liaising with head office with any payroll matters
- Bank and inter-company reconciliation
- Processing and reconciling prepayments and accruals
- Maintaining fixed asset register for additions, disposals and depreciations
- Processing quarterly VAT returns
- Analysing & reconciling control accounts and balance sheet
- Overseeing supplier rebates and processes
- Making sure deadline are met in-line with head office requirement
- Understanding and improving controls and procedures within companies
- Managing small team, including appraisals, employee relations and recruitment
- Producing statutory accounts at year end and liaising with auditors
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role, skills, and level of competence as reasonably requested.
- Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with GDPR and company data protection policies when handling customer personal information
Relevant Qualifications or Experience Required:
- Working towards ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience
- Minimum 3 years’ Experience in similar role
- Computer-literate with strong excel skills.
- Strong organisational skills and problem-solving ability
- Experience of using Dynamic NAV would be beneficial.
