Location: South Coast Dorset (Field/Office)
Salary: £26,500 – £27,800 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: 40 per week
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Field Service Engineer to join our Field Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in enterprise networking, working with modern switching and Wi-Fi technologies across a range of customer environments.

You'll support the deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of network infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience with enterprise wireless networks, switches, structured cabling, and network monitoring tools.

Working alongside senior engineers, you'll visit customer sites, assist with installations, resolve technical issues, and help ensure customers receive an excellent service experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network switches and wireless access points, and Point to Point links.
• Assist with network infrastructure projects, including site surveys and hardware deployments.
• Carry out equipment upgrades, replacements, and maintenance activities.
• Support the installation and testing of structured cabling.
• Document technical work completed and maintain accurate service records.
• Participate in out-of-hours, evening and weekend work when required.
• Adhere to customer site health and safety requirements.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of Ethernet switching and wireless networking concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence, minimum 4 years’ experience.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations.

Desirable

• Experience with enterprise networking solutions.
• Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent certification.
• Experience working within a service desk, field engineering, or IT support environment.
