Our client is a fast-growing fashion brand known for trend-led, commercial womenswear selling globally . As they continue to grow, they are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Ladies Fashion Buyer to join our team based in Essex.

This is an exciting opportunity for a buyer who understands the fast-paced fashion landscape, has a strong commercial eye and can identify trends and translate them into commercially successful product.

The Role

As a Fashion Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and buying fashion product from initial concept through to production, ensuring the range is commercially relevant, trend-led and aligned with the brands customer.

You will work closely with their design, merchandising and production teams, as well as our supplier base across the Far East and China, to develop and deliver product that meets their quality, margin, cost and critical path requirements.

A strong understanding of the ASOS customer and marketplace is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Own and manage the buying process across designated product categories.

Research current and emerging fashion trends, customer behaviours and competitor activity.

Identify key commercial opportunities and translate trends into viable product.

Develop ranges from initial concept through to final production.

Work closely with designers and product development teams to develop commercially successful products.

Source and develop product with suppliers across the Far East, particularly China.

Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas suppliers and factories.

Negotiate costs, margins, MOQs, lead times and delivery dates with suppliers.

Review samples and work closely with suppliers to ensure products meet the required design, quality and cost expectations.

Manage the product critical path and ensure key deadlines are met.

Analyse sales performance and use commercial data to inform future buying decisions.

Monitor competitor and marketplace activity, particularly ASOS and other leading online fashion retailers.

Attend supplier meetings, trade shows and relevant market appointments where required.

Work collaboratively with merchandising, design, production and senior management.

Ensure the product range remains commercially competitive, trend relevant and aligned with the the brands brand.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and passionate about young fashion, with the confidence and experience to take ownership of their category and make strong buying decisions.

Essential experience:

4+ years' experience in ladies commercial fast fashion buying.

Proven experience working with or buying for ASOS — either directly or within a supplier/brand environment.

Strong Far East / China sourcing and supplier experience.

Proven product development experience, taking products from concept through to production.

Strong understanding of the fast-fashion and e-commerce market.

Excellent knowledge of fashion trends, customer behaviour and competitor activity.

Experience negotiating with overseas suppliers on cost, MOQ, quality and delivery.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of margins.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Experience working within a fast-fashion, online or DTC fashion brand.

Existing relationships with suppliers and factories across China/Far East.

Experience across womenswear, footwear or accessories.

Experience working closely with design and merchandising teams.

Experience using sales and performance data to influence range decisions.
