The Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Developer to join our development team.

You will support the development and maintenance of web and mobile applications, working with experienced colleagues across the development lifecycle and gaining practical experience across our technology stack.

The ideal candidate is a curious and proactive problem solver with a good foundation in PHP, MySQL and web technologies, a willingness to learn, and the discipline to produce reliable, maintainable work.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for web and mobile applications with support from experienced developers
• Write clear, maintainable code and appropriate technical documentation
• Investigate bugs, test fixes, and support the maintenance of existing applications
• Work with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
• Use Git and participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
• Apply secure development, responsive design, and API integration practices while building technical knowledge through feedback and training

Knowledge, Skills and experience:

• Practical knowledge of PHP and object-oriented programming gained through employment, study, an apprenticeship, or personal projects
• Working knowledge of MySQL or another relational database, including basic querying and data structures
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web development
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and front-end/back-end integration
• Familiarity with Git, debugging, and testing changes before release
• Exposure to React or another modern JavaScript framework is desirable
• Good communication, attention to detail, organisation, and willingness to learn from feedback

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
