Junior Chef

We’re looking for a Junior Chef to join our busy kitchen team at The Bell Inn in Frampton-on-Severn.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some kitchen experience and wants to develop their skills, gain more confidence and progress their career as a chef. We also offer apprenticeship opportunities for those looking to gain recognised qualifications alongside their practical experience.

You don't need years of experience. We’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking and keen to learn who enjoys being part of a busy kitchen team.

About The Bell

The Bell is a busy, well-loved village pub serving good, straightforward pub food. We're part of Quality Inns, a family-run pub group with pubs across Gloucestershire and Devon.

Our kitchen can get very busy, particularly during evenings and weekends, so you'll get plenty of hands-on experience working alongside experienced chefs.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing ingredients and dishes for service
• Cooking and plating dishes to our standards
• Learning different sections of the kitchen
• Supporting the chefs during busy services
• Helping with stock rotation and deliveries
• Keeping your section clean, organised and ready for service
• Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Developing your skills and taking on more responsibility as you progress

Who we're looking for

You might currently be working as a Kitchen Assistant, Commis Chef, Junior Chef or Cook and looking for your next step.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has some previous experience working in a kitchen
• Is keen to learn and develop as a chef
• Can stay organised during a busy service
• Is reliable and works well as part of a team
• Takes pride in the food they prepare
• Is happy to work evenings and weekends as part of a rota

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a good attitude and genuine interest in developing their kitchen career.

Due to our village location and the hours involved in hospitality, please make sure you can reliably travel to and from The Bell for your scheduled shifts.
