Junior Chef de Partie/Commis Chef

The beautiful 4 star Dales Country House Hotel, set in the heart of the Norfolk countryside, is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Junior Chef de Partie / Commis Chef to join our existing kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills, gain valuable experience and progress their career within a supportive and professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of food to a high standard.
• Support the smooth running of your allocated kitchen section.
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and food safety, following HACCP procedures.
• Ensure consistency, quality and presentation across all dishes.
• Assist with stock rotation, portion control and minimising food wastage.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver an excellent food offering.
• Be enthusiastic about learning new skills, developing menus and improving kitchen standards.
• Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and ensure a smooth and efficient service.

About You

• Some previous kitchen experience is preferred, although a willingness to learn and develop is essential.
• Passionate about food and keen to build a career in the hospitality industry.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
• Takes pride in the quality and presentation of food.
• A positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Keen to learn from an experienced kitchen team and progress within the business.

You will work 5 days out of 7 – please note that this does include working weekends and evenings.
