About Bunker One UK

Bunker One UK supports shipping customers across the UK and international markets with marine fuel procurement, physical fuel supply, logistics solutions, and related services. With solid local knowledge and global market coverage, the business is focused on delivering reliable, high-quality bunker solutions, responsive customer service, and efficient operational support.

Role Purpose

As a Junior Bunker Trader at Bunker One UK, you will start your commercial career in an international trading environment and gain hands-on experience with customers, suppliers, pricing, compliance, logistics, and operations in the global marine fuels market. Working closely with experienced traders, you will build a strong foundation in bunker trading while gradually taking on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow.

What you will be doing

You will support Senior Traders with customer enquiries, quotations, pricing calculations, and market intelligence while helping to maintain and develop customer relationships. You will also assist with business development, lead generation, CRM updates, and customer and supplier performance reporting, giving you broad exposure to the commercial side of bunker trading.

You will also play an important role in order entry and contract administration. In this part of the role, you will:

  • Negotiate prices and enter bunker sales and purchase orders into company systems.
  • Ensure that documentation is complete, correctly recorded, and available to the colleagues and stakeholders involved in each trade.
  • Assist with agency, onboarding, credit, and compliance processes.

On the operational side, your tasks will cover:

  • Coordinate operations, suppliers, customers, agents, terminals, barges, and transport providers to support smooth order execution.
  • Help monitor bunker deliveries, assist with claims handling and issue resolution, prepare post-delivery documentation, and maintain trade files.
  • Support daily trading reports, monthly performance reporting, audits, and internal compliance requirements.

What we offer

  • Training and mentoring from experienced traders and commercial colleagues
  • Hands-on exposure to international customers, suppliers, and marine fuel markets
  • A practical introduction to trading, pricing, compliance, logistics, and customer service
  • The opportunity to build a long-term commercial career in bunker trading
  • A dynamic, international working environment where accuracy, curiosity, and teamwork are valued

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Interest in commodity trading, shipping, logistics, or international business
  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills.

Desirable

  • Experience or studies related to shipping, logistics, energy, commodities, business, or marine fuels.
  • Knowledge of bunker markets and marine fuel products, or a strong interest in learning about them.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, or trading platforms.

Personal Attributes

  • Commercially aware and open to learning.
  • Proactive and solution oriented.
  • Relationship-focused and motivated by working closely with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced international environment.

What success looks like

Success in this role will be reflected in accurate order entry, reliable trade administration, and complete documentation. You will contribute by ensuring timely agency, credit, and compliance checks; responding efficiently to sales and operational needs; and helping maintain consistent service levels for customers and suppliers. Over time, your contribution will support team revenue growth, customer retention, and the continued development of a professional, high-performing trading environment.

This role offers a compelling path for an early-career professional interested in learning, drawn to international business, and looking to build a career in marine fuel trading. You will be part of a professional team where attention to detail, curiosity, teamwork, and a willingness to handle tasks will help you develop and contribute from day one.
