Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist or Junior Chemist on a 6mth fixed term contract to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will contribute to research and development, quality control, and product development processes within our laboratory environment. Your expertise will help ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety, supporting our mission to create exceptional natural products.

Duties

Strong hands-on formulation and product development experience within cosmetics and personal care

• Ability to formulate across a broad range of product categories, including skincare, body care, hair care, cleansing products, surfactant systems, emulsions, anhydrous products and other cosmetic formats
• Confidence managing multiple customer projects and development accounts
• Ability to interpret customer briefs and turn ideas into technically robust, commercially viable formulations
• Good understanding of raw materials, formulation chemistry, preservation, pH, viscosity, stability and product performance
• Experience supporting scale-up and troubleshooting from laboratory through to manufacturing
• Excellent organisation, communication and documentation skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and willingness to take ownership
• Friendly, approachable and confident working collaboratively with customers and colleagues
• Curious and open-minded, with a genuine interest in ingredients, innovation and new formulation technologies
• Requirements
• Degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field or equivalent
• Laboratory experience in cosmetics, manufacturing, FMCG desirable
• Knowledge of GMP standards applicable to cosmetic or health-related products
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
• Prioritisation and handling a number of projects at one time
• Ability to follow detailed protocols accurately and efficiently
• Passion for scientific research and product innovation
