Join a supportive and experienced team, gaining hands-on exposure to a wide range of accounting and audit assignments for clients across various sectors.

The Role

Working closely with senior members of the team, you will assist in delivering high-quality accounting services while developing your technical knowledge and practical skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio.
• Processing and maintaining financial records using both cloud-based and internal accounting systems.
• Producing working papers and supporting documentation for year-end accounts.
• Preparing reconciliations for bank accounts and VAT
• Assisting with the preparation of debtor and creditor balances, accruals and prepayments.
• Posting journals and updating client accounting records.
• Supporting Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance and submissions.
• Assisting the audit team with fieldwork and testing procedures on a range of assignments.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is motivated to learn and develop a successful career in accountancy. You may already be studying AAT or be looking for a firm that will help you begin your professional qualification journey.

You will ideally possess:

• Strong numerical ability and a methodical approach to your work.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong academic credentials at GCSE and A-level
• A genuine enthusiasm for building strong relationships with both colleagues and clients.
• Accountability for your work and pride in delivering a high standard of service.
• Ambition to continue learning and progress through professional qualifications such as AAT, ACCA or ACA.
