2x Junior Manager - Telesales
We are looking for 2 Junior Managers to set the standard in our telesales team, support our senior managers and lead the room when they are not available, while continuing to manage your own accounts day to day. Part-time applications would also be considered.
This is a first step into management for a strong account manager. You will keep your own accounts and targets, and take on three extra responsibilities.
- Set the example. Your performance, attitude and behaviour set the standard for the rest of the team.
- Give strategic input. You will be the link between the sales floor and senior management, sharing insight and ideas that help shape how the department works.
- Lead the room. When senior managers are not available, you will manage the sales room and keep the team on track.
What you will be doing:
Your accounts
- Continue to manage your own portfolio of accounts day to day, achieving your sales targets and any KPI targets set for you.
- Follow up quotes promptly and keep the quote report up to date.
- Meet the same standards and criteria as the rest of the team, so your own performance sets the benchmark.
Leading the room
- Manage the sales room when senior managers are not available, keeping the team focused and the day running smoothly.
- Update the team on sales figures and KPI performance.
- Advise team members on customer and product situations, and step in to help where needed.
- Approve and advise on discounts and carriage, in line with company guidelines.
- Monitor standards on the floor, including punctuality, KPIs, positivity and appropriate office behaviour.
- Represent the department in meetings when a senior manager is not available.
Strategic input
- Give senior managers clear, practical input on how the team is performing and what is happening on the sales floor.
- Bring forward ideas that make the department more productive and efficient and help put them into practice.
- Raise potential issues in the team early and honestly with your manager.
How you will lead
- Set the right standard for the team and be a positive role model every day.
- Be consistent in your mood, feedback and attitude, so the team knows what to expect from you.
- Promote open, honest communication within the team.
- Handle any concerns professionally, taking conversations away from the sales floor where appropriate.
How your manager will support you
Your senior manager will:
- Keep you updated on what is happening across the wider business.
- Involve you in bigger-picture thinking, including why decisions are made and why processes work the way they do.
- Support your ongoing development as a manager.
- Keep responsibility for formal people management, including HR administration, return-to-work interviews, performance management and disciplinary matters. You may be involved in some of these where appropriate.
